Ethiopian coffees are like no other and this current offering is a prime example of the explosive blueberry essence of a natural processed coffee from this region. When naturally or dry processed, the coffee cherries are dried in the sun with the fruit intact, imparting intense flavors into the bean. Our friends at Slake Coffee not only roast this organically grown coffee on the lighter side to preserve all that complexity but also use a roast profile that mutes some of the harsh acidity that can come from a light roast coffee.
Buku Sayisa is one of the highest elevated coffee growing areas in Ethiopia with an altitude of 2,350 meters above sea level where this coffee is grown and prepared. A truly special coffee but nothing like our darker roast offerings.
Roast Level: Medium/Light
Body: Light
Flavor Notes: Apple, Blueberry, Vanilla
Additional: A bright but not acidy light roast coffee with a tea-like mouthfeel. Intense, fragrant and almost sweet. Best enjoyed in modest quanitities when your pallet is in the mood for complexity (aka, not first thing in the morning when your tongue is coated and your eyes are bleary).
